Biography
Curriculum Vitae
Andie Freeman (b. 1971) grew up in Holden, Massachusetts and Hilton Head, South Carolina, surrounded by antiques and history that sparked her lifelong fascination with our interconnectedness through shared stories and heritage. This exploration of time and collective memory permeates her work, alongside her deep love for nature and conservation.
Freeman earned a BFA from College of Charleston with an emphasis on life drawing and studio art, and completed a professional certificate in graphic design from Miami Ad School@Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Since relocating to Apex, NC, in 2010, she has concentrated on oil painting as a studio member of Artspace and in her home studio.
The Clark Hulings Fund selected Freeman as a Fellow of their Art Business Accelerator Program in 2019, and the North Carolina Theatre named her their Visiting Artist for the 2022-23 Season. In her marketing career, she has championed the arts in North Carolina, serving as Marketing Manager at Arts North Carolina, Communications and Marketing Coordinator at the Gregg Museum, and currently as Communications & Social Media Manager at the North Carolina Arts Council. When not working, she enjoys camping with her family in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
