My Year as Visiting Artist at the North Carolina Theatre

I am happy to announce that I am the Visiting Artist for the North Carolina Theatre’s 2022/2023 Season! That means that I created five large paintings for the theatre to use for key art for their upcoming season. For each play, I worked collaboratively with the Producing Artistic Director of North Carolina Theatre, Eric Woodall. With each painting, I hoped to highlight key attributes or moments from the play In a new and unique way. It was important to communicate clearly so that audiences would recognize the play immediately, and also be intrigued to learn more

The first show will be Steel Magnolias which opens in November, and then Dreamgirls in February. In spring and summer of 2023, the season continues with The Color Purple and Mary Poppins. The last show is Sunset Boulevard in the fall of 2023. As the Visiting Artist, I will have the opportunity to meet patrons at a performance of each play, which will be a great way to learn more about other art lovers and show them my work. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with this exceptional theater and reach new audiences!
