Expressive Alla Prima Still Life -Intro to Oils
Learn the basics of oil painting in this introductory three hour workshop. Alla Prima painting is the technique of painting wet into wet oils in one session. My paintings start in the alla prima way and I will typically go back and work on them for one or two sessions afterwards. Our class will take three hours to discuss the palette, materials and how to make a small still life in the Alla Prima style. The paintings tend to be stylistic and looser, less detailed, and full of energy and expression. It is a great way to learn the elements of oil painting in a gestural way. No experience is needed. We will keep our setup simple but fun! Canvas panel and Odorless Mineral Spirits will be provided.
